General Information
Howard University Hospital became a Level I Trauma Center in 1986, the highest level awarded by the American College of Surgeons. As a trauma center, board-certified surgeons and emergency physicians, anesthesiologists, radiologists, and trauma nurses are available 24-hours a day, everyday to meet the needs of critically ill patients. The Center manages the care of more than 1200 patients per year.
