The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology's mission is to provide competent, state-of-the-art primary (prevention), secondary (identification and care for the patients at risk), and tertiary (treatment of patients with the ob/gyn condition in question) obstetrical and gynecological services to women, and to maintain a relentless pursuit of excellence by developing a systematic research program and by continuously updating medical knowledge in the specialty.
