Be a part of one of the most exciting health care
teams in D.C. The Howard nurse develops clinical
expertise in one of the most medically and surgically
intense Emergency Departments in Washington, D.C.
Serving a diverse community, the emergency department
sits in the heart of Washington, D.C. along the Georgia
Avenue corridor. The Emergency Department cares for
approximately 43,000 visitors annually. Nurses of the Division of
Nursing at Howard University Hospital work alongside
physicians, physician assistants, emergency department
technicians and other staff. This energetic and
enthusiastic team work collaboratively to diagnose,
treat, teach and accomplish positive outcomes for the
population served. Utilizing Emergency Severity Index
and rapid triage protocols, the staff see a high volume
of Level III patients. In adjacent areas, the team also
care for pediatric and Fast Track patients. |
