THE NATIONAL BLACK NURSES ASSOCIATION, INC.
NBNA's mission is to provide a forum for collective action
by African American nurses to "investigate, define and
determine what the health care needs of African
Americans are and to implement change to make available
to African Americans and other minorities health care
commensurate with that of the larger society."
Visiting Nurses Association
The Visiting Nurse Association has provided home care
services for nearly 100 years, serving Washington, D.C.,
Montgomery, Prince George's, Anne Arundel and northern
Charles Counties and Northern Virginia. The Visiting
Nurse Association is certified by Medicare and Medicaid,
licensed by the state, and is accredited by the Joint
Commission On Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
(JCAHO).
Nurse Practitioner Association of the District of
Columbia
The Nurse Practitioner Association of the District of
Columbia (NPADC) is an nonprofit professional
organization of nurse practitioners established in 1971.
The purpose is to promote high standards of health care
as delivered by nurse practitioners.
