General Information
The Division of Infectious Diseases offers outpatient and in-patient consultations regarding all types of infectious agents, including bacteria, viruses, and parasites. Out-patient services are available for those clients requiring immediate attention. Travel Medicine/Tropical Diseases services are provided, including immunizations, and follow-up care for the returning sick traveler .
All physicians of the Division of Infectious Diseases are full-time faculty of Howard University College of Medicine. They are national and international authorities in their field. Several are involved in national research programs; investigative and clinical trials.
Services
This Division provides comprehensive care to patients infected with HIV and conditions associated with AIDS. The approach to care emphasizes self-care management using a chronic care model.
